Full Name of the mission: Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART

Launched from Earth on 24 November 2021 

It was made to  crash into Dimorphos, the minor-planet moon of the asteroid Didymos 

Earth-based ATLAS observatory detected the ejecta plume from the DART impact 

It has a diameter of 170 meters

It has been characterized as a low-density rubble pile 

The ESA mission Hera is planned to arrive at the Didymos system in 2026 to further study 

Hubble space telescope recently observed a tail sprouting out of this asteroid
